The Heathfield House Ethos
All classes are taught by qualified, dedicated and caring teachers. All children learn in different ways.
Our teaching methods combine different approaches and a variety of resources to inspire children’s learning. Class sizes are between eighteen and twenty to provide the individual attention that children deserve and on which they thrive. Whilst still providing opportunities for learning social skills and forming a range of relationships.
The Heathfield House School curriculum ensures that the guidelines of The Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum are followed and goes beyond them to offer greater depth and breadth of experiences. A formal, structured and challenging academic curriculum is provided, but the more creative, physical and social aspects of learning are given equal respect.
All children are regularly assessed so that their academic and personal achievements and needs can be identified. Nationally standardised exams are used and care is taken to strike the right balance of both preparing children for the future and preserving their childhood. Above all, the school’s aim is to provide an education which allows children to enjoy and look forward to each day as they accumulate the skills necessary to achieve success in their future school careers.
