Trips

Educational visits are arranged to enrich the children’s educational experience.

Educational visits often reinforce and enable a greater understanding of the learning within the normal school environment. Frequently these experiences stay with the children for a long time after the visit. Each year group has a varied programme of trips as well as speakers visiting the school. We make the most of parents’ knowledge and expertise by inviting them into the classroom where appropriate. Ordinarily no charge is made for trips and visits.

Extensive use is made of the local area, London’s many educational venues as well as locations further afield.  Children have recently visited The Orange Tree Theatre, Thames Explorer at Chiswick Pier, Bockett’s Farm, The London Transport Museum, Chiswick Fire Station, The Horniman Museum, Gunnersbury Museum, The Houses of Parliament and local places of worship.

Residential trips are organised annually from Year 3 onwards. These give children the opportunity to experience many activities such as raft building, canoeing and abseiling. Children develop their team work skills, independence and enjoy trying out new activities.
