Inspection Reports

Heathfield House School is delighted to announce the result of its recent Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) inspection, which took place from Tuesday 14th October until Thursday 16th October 2025. The school was inspected under ISI’s Framework 2023.  We are proud that Heathfield House School met all the Independent Schools Standards. 

While the inspectors were visiting the school, it was lovely to hear positive informal feedback from them each day about our school and community. 

The inspection is a rigorous review of all aspects of school life including leadership, teaching, pastoral care and safeguarding.  

Report Highlights: 

The proprietors are fully involved in the oversight and day-to-day running of the school.  They are well known by pupils and parents.’ 

‘The proprietors prioritise pupil happiness and wellbeing and are proactive in helping pupils enjoy their school experience.’ 

‘The curriculum is well planned and implemented effectively to develop pupils’ knowledge, skills and understanding.’ 

Pupils who have SEND have a wide variety of support in place.’  The inspectors then go on to say, ‘the range of additional support strategies provided to pupils has a positive impact on pupils and changes over time as pupils develop or have different needs.’ 

‘Pupils’ mental health and emotional wellbeing is prioritised by leaders and staff.’ 

There is a positive safeguarding culture within the school.’   

Early Years leaders are knowledgeable and plan an interesting curriculum that enables children to develop skills and understanding in fun and interesting ways.  The indoor and outdoor learning environment is thoughtfully resourced, enabling children to develop skills such as independence, physical and social development and creativity.’ 

Adults are positive role models and support children to resolve issues in their play, such as by suggesting how to share a popular resource.’ 

 ‘Children play harmoniously with others and understand rules of the classroom, resulting in a calm and respectful environment.’ 

Careful consideration is given to providing all pupils with an opportunity to engage in extra-curricular activities, by offering clubs before, during and after the school day.’ 

Leaders invest in supporting pupils’ understanding of the importance of mutual respect and self-reflection.’ 

Pupils show respect for people with other beliefs, lifestyles, cultures and faiths, including by sharing details about each other’s cultures and family backgrounds in class.’ 

Historic Inspection Report: 

After ISI’s visit in November 2022, the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) judged Heathfield House School as ‘excellent’ in both of the key outcomes 

  • the pupils’ academic and other achievements  

  • the quality of the pupils’ personal development
